One early morning in January of 2010 I left the Beyu’ Caffe with a steaming cup of coffee in my hand, happy to be downtown in my beautiful city of Durham. I sat the coffee on the roof of my car so I could unlock the car door and happened to turn around and saw this image of Chapel Hill St. reflected in the windows of the Caffe. That image awakened my need to paint that had been dormant for nearly 7 years. In a way this painting represents a rebirth for me. A new vision. For that I will forever be thankful.
