Hurricane Florence has passed through us and left us to recover.

My heart is very much with the fishing community on our coast in Brunswick County. This area is at the very heart of the Southern North Carolina fishing industry.

A lot of our fishing Community has been devastated by this hurricane  and it will take weeks and maybe longer to just get back to fishing.

Recovery is not a quick or easy process and it takes its toll on all who are involved. Then factoring in the emotional stress of all of this going on it can seem to much to bear.

Over the years I have become friends with many of these fishermen and their families as well and the men and women that own and work at the fish houses. So, this is a bit personal for me. I want to do what I can to help.

I am going to donate 100% of the proceeds of this print to the commercial fishing families that are in need and recovering in Brunswick County.

"I am so proud to say that my painting is the image for the 2018 Southport Wooden Boat show poster.

The painting shows the Cape Point, the last shrimp boat working out of Southport NC, sitting in her home dock at Potters seafood.  She is a beautiful example of the wooden boats that worked the waters of our coast for the last 100 years or so and is owned by Royce and April Potter."
