Discover Down East: A Portrait of a Vanishing World

Five years ago, I set out to capture the quiet beauty and enduring spirit of Down East North Carolina—a place rich with stories, traditions, and memories. What began as a personal journey became a collection of 30 paintings, each paired with the experiences and moments shared with me by the people who call this region home.

Many of the scenes in these works have already changed—or disappeared—making this book both a celebration of Down East’s remarkable character and a record of what time has taken. Through these paintings, I hope readers feel the resilience, history, and soul of a place that has profoundly shaped my life.

Down East is more than an art book; it is a tribute to a community, a landscape, and a way of life worth remembering.
